Global Oceanic Carriers Limited (“GO Carriers”) was incorporated on 21 December 2004 as a public company under the Companies (Jersey) Law. The Company was listed on the AiM Market of the London Stock Exchange and commenced trading on 26 May 2005.
On 27 June 2008, Newport holdings Limited made a recommended cash offer at 170.5 pence per share for the entire issued and to be issued share capital of Global Oceanic Carriers Limited (please see Investor Relations: Prospectus for additional information).
As notified in the Offer announcement, on 28 July 2008 Global Oceanic Carriers delisted from AIM.
The principal activity of the Company is owning and operating dry bulk carriers. GO Carriers provides worldwide seaborne transportation services of bulk cargoes such as iron ore, coal, grain, bauxite, phosphate, fertilisers, steel and other products. The technical management of the fleet is undertaken by its affiliate company Antares Ship Management SA.
GO Carriers is focused on building and maintaining long lasting relationships in the international shipping industry including charterers, operators, brokers, suppliers, classification societies, insurers and others.
GO Carriers intends to expand its vessels’ portfolio over the coming years. This is based on and subject to market trends and conditions through the expertise and contacts of the management and in a manner designed to grow the business and optimise returns for shareholders. Furthermore, within the Company’s future plans is the involvement into ship management, chartering brokering and trading operations.
GO will continue its operations in a manner designed to grow the business, optimise returns for shareholders, take care of its employees and operate in a safe environment in the best interests of the Company’s future.
